
Geneviève Nevin / B.C.L J.D.

Geneviève Nevin graduated with a Juris Doctor and Bachelors of Civil Law from McGill University in May 2023, and has been with ORAGA since her 3rd year of law school. During her time at McGill law, Geneviève worked as a Senior Case Worker at the McGill Legal Information Clinic and as a legal intern at the Montreal Refugee Centre. From 2020 to 2022, she also volunteered as a member of the Detained Defense Team with the Texas-based organization Las Americas, a migrant justice organization that provides legal services to migrants detained along the Mexico–United States border.
She holds an honours degree in International Development and Globalization with a minor in Indigenous Studies from the University of Ottawa. During her undergraduate studies, Geneviève conducted field research in Chiapas and Oaxaca on Indigenous environmental activism and the impacts of Canadian mining companies operating in Mexico.
Geneviève is passionate about social justice and has spent the last 10 years working in political and community organizing, including around issues of migrant rights and global anti-colonial struggles for Indigenous sovereignty.
