
Isabelle Boisvert-Chastenay / Lawyer

Isabelle Boisvert-Chastenay joined O’Reilly, André-Grégoire & Associés in February 2020. Called to the Barreau du Québec in 2015, Isabelle began her practice in Aboriginal law at a boutique firm in Quebec City.
From 2017 to 2019, Isabelle worked with a Colombian organization specializing in the defence of the rights of women who have been victims of armed conflict. In this capacity, she prepared files for the Truth Commission and the Special Tribunal for Peace. She also wrote a book published in Colombia that examined the violations of women’s rights in Chocó (Colombia) using an analysis based on international law instruments.
Isabelle practices in Aboriginal, constitutional, and environmental law, and has been involved in proceedings undertaken by Indigenous communities against private companies. She has considerable litigation experience and has prepared briefs filed with the Superior Court, the Quebec Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Isabelle completed a Master of Law degree at McGill University in 2021 where she wrote a thesis focused on the liability of various Canadian transnational corporations in Colombia.
