Laurence Prud’homme / Lawyer

 

Laurence first joined O'Reilly, André-Grégoire & Associés in September 2020 as a law student, then as a lawyer in July 2023 after clerking for two years at the Quebec Court of Appeal with the Honourable Robert M. Mainville. She practices Aboriginal law and is involved in claims concerning Aboriginal rights and title, as well as environmental and territorial governance matters. She has solid experience in legal research. 

Laurence has a particular interest in the revitalization of Indigenous legal traditions and Indigenous constitutionalism. In this regard, she completed a master's degree at McGill University on the Pekuakamiulnuatsh constitution-making process and the revitalization of Ilnu constitutionalism.

Before joining our team, Laurence worked as a law student in several renowned Aboriginal law firms. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Kirsten Anker to support the elaboration of Indigenous Legal Traditions’ course.

Laurence will be clerking for Justice Suzanne Côté at the Supreme Court of Canada as of August 2024.
